I went over to Poland reading Ellie Weisel's, "Night" - and returned reading Isaac Bashevis Singer's book, "A Day of Pleasure: Stories of a Boy Growing up in Poland," which I picked up at the Jewish Museum in Krakow. So dark going over, so much light coming back. I just got off the phone with my friend Jonny Daniels, who is back in Poland to explore the many new doors that have swung open. It is all part of a conversation that needs to happen after a 70 year cooling off period. Finally some light where there has been so much darkness.
Picture is of Jonny riding through a snowstorm between Krakow and Warsaw.
Song came on just as I hung up - sounds like Beirut - but is Fanfarlo.
