I speak often about my friend Jeni Britton Bauer as a model for many things. For approaching a business as personal art. For deep integrity, great design and the best nose in frozen concoctions. Most recently I have talked often about the deep connection she has developed with her customers. So deep, that when they had a pair of listeria episodes this past spring, her customers rallied around her rather than ran away. This comes from relationships built on authenticity, a deep sense of who she is, and of course, great products. This IS Jeni of Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams ! As a company they tell their story everyday - both in the way they treat the employees and run the place - but also in the way they share the tales. Their blog and social posts are so well told that when they need to put together their annual report, it is simply an edit of the best posts - and it all feels of the moment, truthful (which it is) and wonderfully shot in real time. When we saw a new Nashville store in Hillsboro Village yesterday - it was like a summer beacon on a dreary gray day. We all indulged after a visit with friends to Dinosaur Park - even Jackson - who never eats ice cream!‪#‎jeni‬'ssplendidicecream ‪#‎jenibrittonbauer‬ ‪#‎LeicaQ‬ ‪#‎LeicaCameraUSA‬
