Meadow Lark Farm Dinners
I like getting my camera as close as I can to the action. I don't use long lenses, and my camera is always getting splashed, smoked and steamed up. Alberto's knife was a blur splitting peas on Meadow Lark's bus, Bella. I love tools that are guarded like the most precious jewels. How many slices has this knife made? 10,000? A million? These peas rode from their pods up Alberto's blade into a salad as fresh as the wind. The salads were my favorite dish each night—each one crafted as carefully as a long, waxed mustache. I loved the sight of the table of salads before they were served. All the plates, as well as each salad, its own unique design.
